Sea Freight from China|Shipping from China by sea|UCS

Sea freight, shipping from China by seaChina is home to many worldwide suppliers, and sea freight is the very first choice for shipping goods from China.

Sea freight is the mode of transport in which goods are shipped by sea, mostly with container ships, sometimes with bulk cargo ships or RORO ships, tankers, etc. Over 90% of the world’s total shipments are being carried out by sea freight, as it’s economically and environmentally superior to other forms of shipping, especially over long distance for goods in bulk or equipment of large size. Additionally, almost everything can be shipped by sea, even those classified as dangerous goods. Low shipping cost is the biggest advantage, but you’ll have to accept the long transit time, especially when you are shipping from China to the other side of the world by sea.

Through years of effort on sea freight forwarding, we have developed service agreements with the all major sea carriers and accumulated abundant experience. This allows us to offer various sea shipping solutions, routes and schedules from China to almost anywhere of the world at fair rates. We have been providing excellent sea cargo shipping services for small and big companies as well as individuals from all over the world.

We provide a wide range of sea freight services from China, including but not limited to standard container, FCL, LCL, OOG cargo shipping, cold-chain transportation, project breakbulk cargo, bulk shipment, RORO & LOLO shipping, etc., depending on your specific needs.

Standard container shipping from China (for general goods, in-gauge cargo)

FCL (Full container load)
Shipping a container of goods exclusively for one client. Shipping FCL is more cost-efficient.
Types of containers include 20GP, 40GP, 40HQ, 45HQ, 53HQ.
53HQ containers are available for shipping lane from South China to the US only.
Among which 20GP, 40GP and 40HQ are the most popular ones.

LCL (less than container load)
Sharing a container with other clients who have cargo to the same destination, at the same time
If you cargo can’t fill an entire container, LCL is the only option. Shipping LCL is a good choice for small business to start with.

Special container shipping from China

Reefer container shipping from ChinaReefer container

Tank container
A tank container is an intermodal container for the transport of liquids, gases and powders as bulk cargo.

OOG cargo shipping from China (Out-of-gauge cargo)

Out-of-gauge cargo is freight which is too large to fit inside 20GP, 40GP, or 40HQ containers (exceeds the dimensions of a container by length, width, height or all of the above). Instead, this cargo can be safely transported on a platform, flat rack or in an open top container.

Flat rack container shipping from ChinaFlat rack container (FR container)
Flat rack container is used for cargo that is too large for a standard container. Flat racks are transported on container ships and allow oversized cargo to move to destinations where RORO and bulk cargo vessels are not necessarily available or to shorten transit times.

Open top container (OT container)
Open top container is cargo that fits within the horizontal constraints of a standard container but over height, can’t be loaded through the container door, such as machinery, sheet glass, construction material, or for cargo when loading from the top is easier.

Breakbulk cargo
Breakbulk cargo is freight which is too large to be transported on a single flat rack or platform, such as large yachts, large factory components, large machines, etc. Typically, breakbulk cargo is loaded on flat rack containers or platform containers (several assembled side-by-side) and then secured for shipment.  B.B. cargoes are accepted alongside of the vessel and are delivered alongside of the vessel.

Bulk Shipment, RORO & LOLO Cargo Shipping from China

Bulk cargo is products transported loose and stored directly into a transport vessel, without using any types of containers or extra packing.
Roll-on, roll-off ships are vessels designed to carry wheeled cargo that are driven on and off the ship on their own wheels. This is in contrast to lift-on, lift-off (LOLO) vessels, which use a crane to load and unload cargo. RORO vessels have built-in ramps that allow the cargo to be efficiently loaded and unloaded when in port.
